Nintendo Wii - Efficient For 2D and 3D Games

With the changing times, the whole aspect of playing games too have undergone a global transformation. Earlier games were categorized into two parts indoor and outdoor games. While outdoor games comprised mainly of games like football, cricket etc. and indoor games included the likes of chess, ludo etc.

But as the time progressed indoor gaming got another name of video games. These games are the games which are played on screen with the help of remote controllers. This revolution in indoor gaming attracted a lot of people and created a pool of them. With changing times, the gaming concept underwent a remarkable change and Nintendo took the advantage of the situation and brought many games into the market. Earlier these games were only meant for age group up to 15. but later on many companies started to bring games that were meant for adults and teenagers too.

But when Nintendo launched Nintendo Wii, a gaming console meant for every video game fanatic, the reaction of indoor game lovers was there to be seen. This gaming console was efficient in every way to play every kind of game, be it 2D or 3D version.

Along with this gaming console there are many accessories such as sports disc, remote, console stand and many other things that also come with it. Also it has a completely different controller which looks much like a remote control of TV. It is the gaming console meant for the entire family.

Earlier this gaming console was not within the reach of every game lover. But Nintendo understood this problem and with their consistent efforts brought down the price of the console considerably and made it every house hold commodity. Earlier the game CDs used to be very costly but Nintendo has brought down the prices of Nintendo Wii games to a reasonable level. Consumer can now buy these games any where as they are now available at cheap price.

It is expected that in future the prices of Nintendo Wii gaming (Nintendo Wii console and cheap Wii games) will come further down because of the rising competition among the gaming consoles manufacturers, who are trying hard to get at the position at which Nintendo is right now. Also the Nintendo company is trying to cut down the prices of its games in an order to make them more cheaper.

Wii Roms - A Beginners Guide

People who have bought a Wii console would be using that to load on new games which keep on hitting the market every now and then. There are also roms that are available which you can download for free and get the latest games on these roms.

First let me explain what a rom is as you will keep hearing the term rom every now and then. Rom put in simple words is a name for the data which is on a CD or game cart. You can download these roms and can save money on the expensive games. Getting your hands on a Wii itself is very challenging and it takes effort and time to locate a wii retailer location. Even if you go online there is a huge waiting list at every online retailer. That means you will have to buy either in an online auction or buy a steep price which usually means buying the games and the console in a bundle.

The next step once you have bought the console is to get a few games to play and some games you would have bought but almost every other day you a new game in the market and for that there are inexpensive options available in terms of roms.

These roms need to work but as such the Wii will not accept the new games as they are not the original games. So what you need to do is have that Wii console taken apart and then put in a new chip inside it. These chips are Wiid, Cyclowiz, DC2key and several others which keep on coming every now and then. These chips are then soldered inside the wii console to enable the console to read the rom properly.

A note of caution is that once you have modified the console to put in a new chip the warranty is no longer valid on the console. Also these roms and downloading is not legal as far as copyright is concerned. So be pretty sure that this is what you would want to do.
There are a few technical things that will be needed so downloading rom is not the only thing you need to be expert at some technical stuff yourself or at least reading through the maze of technical stuff available online.

The roms is the most hotly searched item on the internet right now and correctly so. Who will not like to have a free wii game or games and you would never ever have to bother buying a wii again.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Review - Xbox 360

Being a fan of the original Ninja Gaiden series, you could have imagined my excitement when NG was released for the Xbox. The game was non stop action and a difficulty level great enough to challenge even us hardcore gamers.

The main story in the game is that a woman representing the CIA is looking for Ryu, and in doing so, she gets captured in the process. After saving her, you find out that the enemies are after the demon statue that's hidden away in the Hayabusa Village. The statue has the power to awaken greater fiends that are slumbering throughout the world. This game is a supposed prequel or takes place before the events in Ninja Gaiden 1 for the NES.

Ninja Gaiden 2 follows the tradition of "No way this game is that hard" difficulty. The enemies in the game have been given a higher difficulty level and they always attack you in groups greater than 3. On screen, I have encountered at least 8 active enemies thirsting for my blood and didn't encounter any slow down.

The new feature of being able to chop off your enemies limbs is a great new addition. It makes things a little more interesting because some enemies become more dangerous when their trying to kill you with one arm. Example, in the first couple of levels there will be an enemy that unless you finish them off will kamikaze himself and take a huge amount of health from you. Let's not forget to mention that the level of gore in the game is pretty high.

Speaking of finishing enemies off, the new obliteration moves are not only bloody, but extremely useful. These moves can be done when an enemy is hopping around on one leg. There are also new moves, new ninpo and new weapons. Just to name a few, a sickle with a weight at the end, Tonfa's and my favorite, claws.

Wall running and other jumping puzzles are still pretty much the same. There really isn't any new moves that Ryu has acquired. Guess he just trained in the ancient art of I'm going to chop your head off for looking at me the wrong way.

To end it all, I would give this game a 8.9 which is a really good score. So, whether your a fan of the series or your looking for a hella good Hack and Slash, this game should be one you add to your collection.

Why Hook Up A Wii To The Internet

f you want to have even more fun while playing with your Nintendo Wii Gaming Console I strongly suggest you hook up to the internet rather sooner than later.

You don't need more than a wireless router, connecting to the net and this is all you need. Not only can you download game updates via the internet, but more so you can play against the whole wide world on line and make more friends while having fun. There is another advantage by playing the whole world, you get better and better since the competition out there makes you strive for improvement. This would be an incentive if you're a real achiever and are striving for bigger and better results.

Some explanation on Nintendo Wii Internet Connections Work

The inside structure of your Nintendo Wii is based on technology that is incredibly similar to your laptop computer with a wireless router. The wireless G capable internet card connects the Wii up to your home router that in turn gives access to the internet. Alternatively your Wii can be connected to the internet via an RJ 45 LAN cable if you're house is not equipped with wireless internet connection. Which ever way you have chosen to connect to the internet doesn't really matter. What matters though is the fact that you can access the internet via your Wii, download new games or play against your friends be it next door or across the planet.

Why would I want to connect on to the Internet?

Let me ask another question, since there is no limitation with what you can do with an internet connection on you Wii, why wouldn't you want to connect to the web? The Wii comes with an "on board" browser to surf the web, log onto the Wii games rooms to hook up with players and start playing with them or against them. Being able to go online also gives you the opportunity to download some games for free, mostly the smaller and older ones, but hey. Many people still like Mario Bros, Donkey Kong and the original "legend of Zelda". So if you like them I don't think you would want to miss out on the deal. Lets be clear here, on of the most important reasons why you'd want to be connected to the internet via your Wii truly is because you can update your games.

These days it is common practice that games do get updated after release. So for the seasoned gamer, there's nothing more frustrating than having to play with an old version. I would even push as far as suggesting you check daily to make sure that you've got the latest version of the game downloaded.

The Day Playstation Became Playstation 3

Playstation have come a long way since their first console offering back in 1994. Back then gamers were content to compete against a maximum of one other player (short of physically connecting two TV's and consoles via meters of cables) in a clammy 32 bit environment.

Now with the advent of the Playstation 3 (or PS3 as it is affectionately known) Gamers have been opened up to a new vista of opportunities contained within this one console. The PS3 transcends being labeled as just a computer game console. Sony's seventh generation offering is also a home theatre system with inbuilt blue-ray, DVD and CD playing capability, a multi Gigabyte hard drive, and a site for internet access.

Its slick casing certainly makes it appear very much 'at home' in the modern lounge room. Its multi-functionality adds another level of attractiveness to the PS3 for young people or those on a tight budget as it means that they can essentially score a DVD, CD and Blue ray player in one purchase!

Programmers from the 1980's would scarcely be able to believe the levels of sophistication and technical wizardry they helped pave the way for.

One can imagine the bug-eyed look on their faces had someone traveled back through time with a demonstration of the PS3's capabilities.

The graphics are sharp and crystal clear, with characters in sports games bordering on the real and the blue skies in racing games bordering on radiating warmth out of the TV screen! One wonders how close the time is when we shall not be able to distinguish between the real and the computer generated in video games.

So which games are featured as an excuse to wonder through the amazingly rendered 3d fantasy reality, the gateway to which we call the PS3?

Familiar titles Sonic the hedgehog, Ridge racer (returning in its seventh incarnation), and Virtua fighter (in its fifth form) are reappearing in bigger, more realistic and more exciting installations.

Resistance; fall of man is a gloomy surrealistic sci-fi shoot 'em up revolving around forcing an invasion force of human hating evil aliens out of Britain. Throughout the course of the game the player is coerced through stunningly created 3d renders of Siberia and London which will leave you thankful that everything you just experienced was generated by your PS3 and not your local news channel!

Motorstorm is another game which showcases PS 3's astonishing graphic capabilities. Zooming the player through incredible computer generated environments at top speed.

Both these games have been topping best seller lists since their releases.

The PS3 really is a portal into a whole realm of wide ranging possibilities. On the personal level it can serve as an archive or inventory of stored music (Mp3's, WAV, WMA, ATRAC3+ and MP4's all being supported). Photographic storage capability allows for browsing of your virtual photo library on your TV screen.

On a communal level it affords the opportunity to link up with other gamers around the world through the internet to pit your skills or just have fun with members of the increasingly tight global community which is being brought closer together by inventions such as the PS 3.

What's The Best Wii Download Service

As most Wii fans already know Wii has been virtually sold out since November of 2006 and it has outsold Xbox 360 AND PS3 every month since it was launched. It without a doubt has outlived its fad phase and become the most viable platform of this generation in terms of gaming.

When purchasing Wii Downloads from an Online service you want to look for the following features:

1.Make sure you get immediate access to the download area.

2.Make sure you are ordering through a secure server.

4.Make sure the service assures you that there are no spyware or adware with the downloads.

7.Make sure you have access to tech support 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

8.Make sure the service is all digital quality.

9.Make sure the service works with all Wii versions.

Wii owners are seeking to side-step the cost of Wii games simply by downloading them off the internet, which is fine but just make sure you are using a reputable service and no torrents or bootleg sites. Many of these contain viruses, spyware and adware.Keep in mind there are no commercial free sites, because they are illegal and you will be getting into big trouble using these services and even worse you will end up buying into torrent garbage.

Downloading Wii games online would provide you with great fun and is a time saver too. Downloading games from the online sites has numerous advantages for the user.in that it is faster, cheaper and more convenient than having to head to the mall.

Fortunately, there are several Nintendo Wii services that offer unlimited game downloads that can meet the mark.

HDTV For Playstation 3

If you are buying a PS3, or already own one of these new high definition gaming consoles, then it could be your old television that is letting you down.

Recently TV’s have got wider and thinner, but have they got any better ?

Sure, the latest trend is HDTV (High Definition TeleVision), promising stunning picture quality, but at a much higher price than regular CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Televisions.

Have a look online, or in the electrical stores and you will see a massive quantity of High-def televisions available. Buzz words like plasma, rear projection and LCD will roll off the salemans tongue and then you will have to choose from a variety of screen sizes, shapes and brands. It's enough to make you give up before you even start looking for the perfect compliment to your Sony PlayStation 3 videogame console.

So what exactly is HDTV then ?

Putting it simply, it's all about small dots. Any television picture is made up of dots of colour. The smaller the dots, the more vivid the images will look. That is why HDTV images look great.

Why do HDTV cost so much ?

Currently we are still paying a premium price because the technology is new and cost a lot of money to develop. The reason for this is that the colour dots that make up the picture have to be 9 times smaller on the HDTV. This makes them very expensive to build.

The PlayStation3 is similar in that it cost a huge amount of money to develop, but Sony can afford to sell the PS3 console at a gross loss, purely because Sony know that the average owner will spend an additional $100 + on very profitable games and accessories for their next-gen games machine. HDTV manufacturers do not have this option, so we pay more until the development costs are covered.

So Do I need a HDTV for my PS3 ?

If the question was ‘will my PS3 only work with a HDTV’, then the answer is no. The PlayStation 3 comes bundled with a cable that will let you use a regular television, however the picture quality is so much worse than a HDTV that is makes your PS3 games look only slightly better than PlayStation 2 games.

If you are happy with a small screen, then the alternative is to hook your PS3 up to a computer monitor. You will need a special cable, and a monitor with a digital input, but this will work fine. If your monitor doesn’t have speakers, then you will need to buy some.

If you want a screen larger than 22 inches, then definitely get a HTDV, but make sure it has at least one HDMI connector on the back and has a resolution of 1080i or 1080p and a screen refresh rate of 8ms or less.

Are You a PSP Cheat?

What ever you think about cheats for PSP one thing is for sure they are a big part of the gaming industry. The word cheat is seen by some as a negative word but as far as I can see cheats in the gaming sense are all positive. Sure you can make your way through the game without using them and that posses more of a challenge but there is no harm in playing through the game again using the PSP cheats. After all that's what there for to use and have fun with.

So what are these cheats for PSP, well sometimes they will be in the form of a login pass name or code to get access directly to later levels of the game or in other occasions they will be in a series of key presses to unlock extra weapons more health and that sort of thing, making the levels easier to complete.

Its completely up to you whether you use these cheats or not but believe me millions of people do use them either to help them through a difficult level or just to enhance their enjoyment of the game.

It may surprise you to know that makers of these games spend many hundreds of hours building these cheats in to the games. Some for the use of the game player but some are never actually meant to be found, these secret hidden cheats never become released by the game maker officially but can be found around the many forums on the Internet. So what is the purpose of these hidden cheats well there used mainly for the developers of the game to make quick progress through game levels for testing and further development of the game.

So whether you use these cheats or not is up to you but if you want my opinion if you don't use them your missing out on a lot of extra game playing fun that we are all enjoying.

Take The Next Step: I love my PSP and the great thing is I get all my games without paying for them. if you love your PSP head on over to Monster-PSP.com For all the latest news on your PSP.

Test Drive Unlimited Overall Verdict And Insight Into Games Inspired By Test Drive

Well I think Test Drive Unlimited is fantastic and opens the door to a lot of possibilities, and a new direction for driving games to go. Like GTA revolutionized a open world game,I feel test drivedoes this again, though purely for driving games. I think it still has one of the largest environments of any game to date, It's got a great online community and is just the funnest racing game to play online at the moment.

I hope like GTA many developers will copy the concept, and develop it further in other areas. This really is something fresh in a pretty polluted genre. That said being a wildly ambitious concept-it shows in some places, there's numerous glitches and small niggling problems here and there, but when the game runs well, few things feel as solid as it does.

Since I wrote this review, a new Burnout has come out using this open world massively online style of game play, called Burnout Paradise, it's taken it all a step further and it really is an incredible game, Theres objectives and crashes you have to do with your friends, someof the stunts can't be completed unless you do them with a friend. It has a very intuitive map system, much like test drives world map view. It really is a step further.

More recently GTA 4 has come out, again pushing the open world game play to further heights, I have yet to play this online but I've read a fair bit about it. What more can I say? It's GTA, the whole of liberty city online, for you and a group of friends to wreak havoc on, One of the greatest parts of the online system has to be the free mode, your dumped in the city with everyone to do what ever you like, there's going to be some great games derived from this complete freedom in GTA 4.

The upcoming midnight club needs a shout about as well, it's very far in the distance at the moment, but it's a whole recreation of LA to the point you would recognize your local shops, with tons of cars and unimaginable customization, and they are trying to get 16 people on a server at any one time in the city. So unlike burnout and test drive with 8 players, you will see a lot more, this is going to be quite a spectacle with everyone's unique tastes, keep a serious eye out for it.

A lot of this is inspired by test drive showing what this generation of technology can do now, we really have hit a new high, and the gaming worlds can only get better and more immersive.

Dark Sector Review PS3

Digital Extremes, the producers of Unreal and Unreal Tournament, have spent 4 years developing Dark Sector, and since the initial teaser trailer announcing a new game set in space very little else was heard.

All that changed with the recent release of Dark Sector on the PS3 and XBOX 360. The original sci-fi premise has been abandoned in favour of a more earthbound setting, but it is obvious that Digital Extremes wanted to make a beautiful and satisfying if not extremely violent game.

The problems seem to have arisen from developing this into a coherent story while at the same time being influenced by titles which have launched in the meantime.

I'm not saying the latter is a bad thing, the use of a Gears of War style cover system for example is a boon, as is aftertouch (ala heavenly sword) which enhances the kill sequences brilliantly later on in the game.

However, storytelling is where Dark Sector lets itself down, as characters come and go with little rhyme or reason, and alludes to a back story that we know little about.

But if gameplay is your thing then the story driven cut scenes don't interrupt the flow too much and to be honest they aren't as bad as the story in Lost Planet, for example.

Playing as Special Ops agent Hayden Tenno, you find yourself being sent to Lasria, a fictional member state of the former Soviet Union, where the latest threat to the freedom of the Earth comes from an evil bad guy called Mezner who is set to enslave the world with a virus that turns ordinary folk into zombies, monsters and a load of other freaks.

Things don't go according to plan when Tenno becomes infected with the very same virus he has come to destroy during a battle with one of Mezzner's Goons. This should kill Hayden, or at least drive him mad, but fortunately he is able to fight of the worst effects of the virus thanks to a pre-existing condition called congenital analgia - which means he can't feel pain (who'd have thought..).

So, rather than turning Hayden into a mindless zombie his arm begins to mutate eventually giving way to the ability to grow a triple bladed throwing star, known as the Glaive, from his very flesh. Now this is where Dark Sector comes into its own. The Glaive is quite possibly the coolest weapon in any game ever.

As a tool for mercilessly slaughtering your opponents the Glaive clearly has no peer, especially when you gain the ability to add aftertouch which, once mastered, lets you guide the Glaive round corners and chase down victims severing limbs and decapitating heads in glorious slow motion. Something that I never tired of (not sure if thats a good or a bad thing!).

But its uses extend beyond mere extermination and you can use it for some simple puzzle solving by picking up various environmental elements such as fire, ice and electricity with the Glaive and using them to open doors or clear obstructions.

Dark Sector's online gameplay offers two types of game: Epidemic and Infection. Both these games types are meant for 10 players, but you can include bots to make up any shortfall. In an epidemic game type there are two teams, each led by a Hayden, the objective is simply to see which team can kill the other teams leader first.

Infection sees one player cast as Hayden, who must survive as long as possible while trying to kill all of the other nine players single handedly. The most fun is had when you get to play as Hayden when you get to make full use of the shield and Glaive against your hapless adversaries, even though he is significantly outnumbered.

On the whole Dark Sector is a game well worthy of your time and scores a solid 8/10 simply because it looks gorgeous and you will never tire of slaughtering your opponents with the Glaive.

Fly To The Next Level With A PSP Walkthrough

When you buy a new PSP game you rush home to play it and usually want to get straight to the good bits. You have heard all the hype about the game but it seems to be starting to slowly for your liking, what do you do. Well one thing you can do is to look up a PSP walkthrough, these are basically walk through guides that take you step by step through the game.

Some people have mixed views on PSP walkthroughs. Some think that they spoil the enjoyment of the game. Giving away all the secrets of the game from the start. My view is that if you want to use a PSP walkthrough why the hell shouldn't you. They certainly seem to be growing in popularity all you need to do is Google your favorite game and your bound to find a walkthrough guide for it.

The way I play it is the way I'm sure many of you do. I buy the game I want (or download it, which by the way is getting more and more popular these days). I enjoy the game with all the surprises it throws at me and then if i get to a point when I can not get any further I will get out the walkthrough guide. Sometimes if you don't use a guide you will end up getting frustrated and most probably put the game down and not play it. Which I think is a shame because there may be many more great things to see in the game.

Xbox 360 3 Red Light Fix

Xbox console is designed in such a way that the heat developed in the Xbox is dissipated with the help of heat sinks, cooling fans and small vents in the Xbox. If any of this ventilation system fails then this Xbox 360 three red light fix error will occur. There are actually three well known methods to fix Xbox 360 Red Light Fix Error.

First Method is the normal cooling. As the main reason for this xbox 360 3 red light error is overheating, it has to be cooled. Cooling Systems has already failed so you need to cool it manually. Once you found the three red lights flashing on your Xbox just switch off your xbox and keep it in a cool place for an hour or two. This is the worst method. You can't stop playing every one hour after you started playing and then again start playing after cooling the system. This is not a recommended method. There is no guarantee that you can fix your Xbox by this method. Some Xbox cannot be fixed by this method. Moreover it is not a permanent fix for this error.

Second method involves sending your Xbox to Microsoft, get it repaired by them and then getting it back. Actually the average time taken by the Microsoft people to repair a Xbox is 4 weeks. Add this four weeks with the shipping time of your Xbox to Microsoft. You will get your Xbox from Microsoft only after a month. Four major disadvantages of this method are

1. You need to wait over a month to get your Xbox back.

2. It involves shipping cost to Microsoft. Remember, this will cost higher than sending a normal letter. You need to send your Xbox console.

3. There is a chance for you to lose your small parts in your Xbox console while shipping. It has happened for some people.

4. This method is applicable only if you are in the warranty period. Or else you need to pay around $140 to Microsoft to repair your Xbox.

Here is the third method and best of all the three. There are some Xbox repair guide using which you can Fix your Xbox 360 three red light error in just one hour. This guide comes with a video tutorial too. Moreover it gives a permanent fix for your Xbox 360 3 Red light error.

Xbox 360 - Is There Any Guaranteed Way To Perform Xbox 360 Repair Yourself?

If you have found your way to this article, then like many other people you are probably looking for more information that will help you repair your broken Xbox 360. Since the release of Microsoft's latest console there has been all manner of problems including the dreaded 3 red lights error, overheating problems and even games not playing when you put your disc in the drive!

This article will explain why you find yourself looking for Xbox 360 Repair and also give you a few tips that can help you fix these problems.

The main problem has to be the 3 red lights error on the Xbox 360 and this is caused by the design of the Xbox 360. If you think the console has many high end gaming components in a very small space and not much in the way of cooling measures.

As you play your games the Xbox 360 motherboard heats up slightly and the main pieces of hardware that take the heat are the GPU and the CPU. As these pieces of hardware take more and more heat you may notice graphical glitches in your games or some freezing.

Eventually the problems gets worse as the motherboard starts to bend and then eventually the soldering snaps off completely and you will get the 3 red lights next time you turn the console on.

So is there any way that you can perform Xbox 360 Repair yourself?

Well the quick answer is yes, as if you can stop the motherboard and the chips taking too much heat you will not run into any problems. There are also Xbox 360 Repair guides on the web that claim to help you to do this but be warned not all of these are worth bothering with and some of them will have you wrapping your Xbox 360 in a towel or even blasting it with a heat gun.

This is to melt the soldering a bit that allows it to reconnect for a while and fix the problem, unfortunately this is not a lasting fix and you will find that you are also heating up all the other parts of the Xbox 360 as well that will only lead to damage.

There are some good guides out there however and after reviewing a few of these guides I would say if you are going to go down this route to make sure you get a guide that gives you a full video walkthrough and also offers a full guarantee.

Also make sure to ask before you purchase any guide whether it involves using a heat gun or anything silly like that.

I hope this article has helped explain why these Xbox 360 Repair problems happen and has given you a few pointers that will tell you how to get it fixed.

Hope you get it fixed soon!

2008 Is The Year Of The Wii Balance Board

Unless you've been hiding under a rock somewhere, chances are you've heard the buzz about Nintendo's latest creation, Wii Fit. If you haven't, here's a brief rundown. Wii Fit is the new lifestyle product for the Wii Console that combines the fun of gaming with the benefits of exercise. The Wii was a revolution in itself in the way that it allowed users to interact with games using wireless motion sensitive controls that were fun and easy to use, appealing to both gamers and non-gamers alike. Wii Fit takes this concept one step further with the introduction of the Wii Balance Board which comes bundled with the game.

The Wii Balance Board

The Wii Balance Board looks a lot like an over-sized bathroom scale but it actually contains four pressure sensors that allow it to very accurately determine a user's weight and their position on the board. This information is sent wirelessly to the Wii Console, allowing games to interpret a whole new range of motions and provides a completely new gaming experience. Wii Fit is the first game to take advantage of the Wii Balance Board and features over forty different exercises and games including yoga, muscle workouts, aerobic exercise and balance games.

Wii Fit is an Instant Hit

Wii Fit was launched in Japan at the beginning of December 2007 and it was an immediate hit, selling almost 1.8 million copies in the first four months. It was then released in the UK on the 25th April 2008 and almost immediately topped the UK gaming charts. Within days, retailers had sold all of their initial stock allocations and it was estimated that over 200 000 copies of Wii Fit were sold within the first week. In fact, one high street chain claimed to be shifting 90 copies a minute on launch day. Wii Fit is scheduled for launch in Australia on the 8th May 2008 and in the US on the 19th.

What's Next after Wii Fit?

There's no denying the success of Wii Fit even before its US launch which will no doubt be massive, but I predict that ultimately it's the Wii Balance Board that's going to be the big hit in 2008. Wii Fit has taken Wii from being just another games console to being an actual lifestyle product that wouldn't seem out of place in the average home and this will mean a potentially huge increase in the gaming market. As the buzz and excitement of Wii Fit dies down, many Wii Fit owners will begin to wonder what else they can do with their Wii Balance Boards, and that's when things will really start to get interesting.

Upcoming Wii Balance Board Games

Right now (1 May 2008), Wii Fit is the only game available for the Wii Balance Board but that will definitely change in the coming months. Namco Bandai has already confirmed the release of We Ski in the US on May 13 and 2k Sports have Don King's Prizefighter scheduled for June and the list will grow. In fact, Nintendo US COO, Reggie Fils-Aime, confirmed that over 10 games were already in development.

No other games have been confirmed but there are already rumors spreading of Nintendo snowboarding, EA Skate, Rayman Raving Rabbids and even future Mario titles. Like I said, nothing has been confirmed but whatever the case, Wii Balance Board games are definitely going to be a big hit in 2008.

PS3 VS XBOX 360 - Exclusive Games for 2008

The reign of the Xbox is almost over. As of late the PS3 has been looking better and better. Looks like 2008 will be the year of the PlayStation. PlayStation 3 has many big name titles coming out this year and if the all games from the list are all actually released this year, all we can say is WOW. Note: The following list in no way represents the entire list of exclusive titles for each console. However, it gives us a pretty good idea of the games rumored to be released this year.

PS3:

Resistance 2 (PS3)

Guaranteed success. While the first was a great game and fairly big success, it was still just a launch title. Imagine what they can do after a couple years and games under their belt. 8 player Co-Op! Expect big things from this game.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3)

Another guaranteed success. Anyone who plays Gran Turismo will grab this game. If you're a fan, you're a fan. The visuals continue to improve, HD replays, 'nuff said!

Haze (PS3)

Hopefully the game will finally end it's long series of delays this year. This game promises some intense action, including 4-player co-op, drop-in, drop-out, split-screen, online, or local multiplayer options. The game continues to impress visually, with not only the quality of graphics, but the very cool, unique design elements.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)

Who doesn't know about this game? The game is still months away and is already epic. If any game could live up to the hype this game has garnered, leave it to Solid Snake, old or young. Like most of the games on this list, the visuals are amazing. The game looks to pack in an enormous amount of story and gameplay. The game features a immense arsenal of weapons and combat/stealth moves. If you own a PS3, you are almost required to buy this. You know you will.

SOCOM: Confrontation (PS3)

Still early on this title, few details have been released. The game will support up to 32 players online. Customizable weapons much like SOCOM 3. Also like the previous SOCOM games, the focus will be online multiplayer. Early word says this one will go the way of Warhawk, offering online only possibly with a bluetooth headset and all. After all, the original SOCOM kind of pioneered headset use on consoles.

LittleBigPlanet (PS3)

Possibly one of the most innovative, cute, and anticipated games of the year. Little Big Planet looks to expand the PS3 audience with this "build-your-own-game" game. Eat your heart out Nintendo Miis, this game looks great. The shear level of creativity allowed is staggering. The game also supports 4-player co-op and versus. Plus, it's kid friendly without being offensively cute.

God of War III (PS3)

The PS2 went out with a bang (though it's still hanging in there) with the original God of War, and most recently it's sequel, still on the aging console. People have been waiting for a true "next-gen" God of War experience and it looks as though 2008 is gonna be your year, possibly. Not much is know as of yet, however, the games creator, David Jaffe, is no longer working on the series so we'll just have to wait and see how everything turns out.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) - Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3)

You're either a fan, or you're not, though, you've got to recognize the scale of the Final Fantasy franchise. The games continue to set graphical standards with every release. The next, XIII, looks to make good on their reputation. Not only are they again improving every visual, and storytelling aspect of the game, they are overhauling the combat as well. The combat in Final Fantasy XIII promises the speed up and intensify the battles.

MotorStorm 2 (PS3) [Teaser Trailer]

Another sequel to a previous PS3 exclusive, MotorStorm 2 hasn't revealed much, but from the trailer we can expect yet another pre-rendered bar set too high for them to reach with in-game graphics. Don't get me wrong, the original looked great, but the video they showed a year earlier looked 10-times better. This was the prettiest of all the racers for a while, but we'll see how the sequel compares to the likes of Gran Turismo 5 HD later this year. Some of the improvements include new cars/trucks/motorcycles, tracks, and best of all, a much needed 4-player split-screen mode. The game's also said to include 16-player online support.

Killzone 2 (PS3)

So, video and screenshots have shown just how good the game really looks in action. But what about gameplay? The original was not exactly praised by critics, though I quite enjoyed it (minus the large number of glitches). It definitely wasn't the "Halo Killer" it was touted as. The sequel will have to really prove itself in such a crowded shooter market. Guerrilla Games has yet to reveal any real details on gameplay, i.e. co-op, multiplayer, customization? The game sure does look good though. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

XBOX 360:

Ninja Gaiden II (360)

Finally on to the Xbox 360, I thought we'd never get here. Ninja Gaiden II, the first official, true sequel, promises to up everything that made the original so popular. More action, more bad guys, more blood (almost too much), and more speed. The game's creators have also addressed the difficulty issues some (many) had with the other games. They've said that without dumbing it down, they will be changing the controls in order to improve and lessen the frustration to newcomers. They're also adding new weapons to the game and a ton of new character animations to keep the visuals fresh.

Too Human (360)

An epic in the making, Too Human is already set to be part of a trilogy. Everyone loves a trilogy. They've created an enormous world with a unique technology and organic design. The game is built on story, including a very ambitious new dynamic camera system that's supposed to always give you the best view of the action during gameplay. The game also features a plethora of RPG elements to keep you interested. As with most RPGs you can upgrade almost everything, from weapons, to armor, to special abilities that extend your combat. The game also features a unique combat system, using the right analog stick for both melee and ranged attacks.

Fable 2 (360)

Sequel to a game that was a giant leap in artificial intelligence, Fable 2 looks to surpass it's predecessor in every way. The ultimate choice between good and evil. This time your options are even greater. Similar to another Lionhead game, Black & White, the player will be given a pet in order to help you throughout the game, and also as a friend you can bond with. Peter Molyneux, the games creator has said he wants the game to get the player emotionally involved. Just a guess, but you can probably expect that your dog will eventually die. In addition to a game with conscience, the game is one of the first games to introduce money into the game before it's release. That's right, you can begin earning gold to spend in Fable 2 before the game ever hits store shelve, thanks to downloadable arcade games on Xbox Live.

Banjo-Kazooie 3 (360)

Very little is know of Bajo-Kazooie 3, if that is in fact it's name. Rare, the company developing the game, released a short teaser trailer back in September 2006. It really didn't show any gameplay, however, it did show a new boxy art style you can see in the screenshots above. You can expect the regular Bajo-Kazooie platform elements, collect everything in sight, teamwork to reach different areas and beat different enemies, and large open worlds. The Xbox 360 isn't exactly known for having many platformers, so this will be a welcome addition. The last time we had a Banjo game was back on the N64.

Gears of War 2 (360)

Do I really have to say anything? Gears of War 2. You knew they would make it. The first was such a huge success, it actually beat Halo for top online multiplayer game, if only because it was the last-gen Halo 2. The game features everything new the Unreal Engine 3 has to offer. More enemies on screen, more destruction, more realistic lighting, and more chainsawing action. Another emergence day awaits us this fall.

Halo Wars

Halo isn't dead! At least the Halo universe isn't. Halo Wars is the first Halo game that isn't a Halo game. It's a real-time strategy. While the game isn't being developed solely over at Bungie, it is being developed from the ground up for the Xbox 360 and console gameplay. Meaning they've supposedly solved some of the problems that plague many real-time strategy games on consoles. Did you know that Halo was originally a real-time strategy game being developed for the Mac? It's true.

Splinter Cell: Conviction (360)

The next step for Sam Fisher looks remarkably similar to a Bourne Identity type game. That said, it still looks great. They've dropped the green eyed goggles in exchange for a man bag (ala Jack Bauer), hoodie, and beard, and they've got a stripped down and dirty, raw, Splinter Cell game where you're now a fugitive from the law. The new game looks to change more than Sam's fashion, focusing on what Ubisoft is calling "All new improvisation-based gameplay". Where your inventory is actually the world around you, pick up and throw chairs, etc. Use crowds to your advantage, similar to Assassin's Creed. This could be a great way to freshen up the series, or it could go too far from it's roots and lose fans.

Left 4 Dead (360)

Zombies, Co-Op, Valve, Source, 'nuff said. The "43 in Left 4 Dead actually means something, it's not just l337 speak. That's right, 4-player co-op for a zombie first person shooter. A lot of people have high expectations for this one, and it looks like it could live up to them. Not a fan of being human, well they've got you covered. You can choose to play as a zombie, or "infected" as they're called in the game. There are a number of different types of zombies each with different strengths and weaknesses. The brain eating should commence around October.

Alan Wake (360)

Do you like psychological thrillers? Alan Wake is a presented as more of a "movie" like game than a traditional action game. They're officially calling it a "psychological action thriller". The game has been in development for a while now (it won GameSpy's Best of E3 2005) and claims to have a 2008 release date, we'll see. It looks beautiful, the developer's have spent a lot of time on really capturing the mood of a thriller. They've included full realtime day-to-night lighting and weather effects.

Honorable Mention: Heavy Rain (PS3), The Agency (PS3), L.A. Noire (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3), Huxley (360), GTA4 (360 exclusive episodic content), Age of Conan (360) That's quite a bit and I'm tired. This should gives you something to think about if your making a console purchase this year. I'm sure there are a lot of games coming out that aren't on this list. I've just covered some of the biggest of the console exclusives for 2008.

Download Wii Games - Download Wii Games Online To Save Money

If you want to download wii games to try and stop letting all of the new game releases hurting your bill fold, you may want to take a look at the different sources that allow you to get wii downloads online.

Recently, well several months back I was introduced to downloading wii media online. I felt like a kid in a candy store once I got my head around the idea and finally figured out how to do it without either getting a virus or throwing my arms up in frustration because the file I downloaded is not what I wanted.

When you download anything online you should always be cautious of the sources you use. Wii games are definitely no exception. When someone decides to upload a file to the internet to share with everyone else they do have the ability of imbedding a virus or other types of malicious code into the file which will be passed to the downloader once the file is executed. This is why it is always important to run every file that is transferred to you via the internet through a good anti virus scanner.

You can significantly reduce your chances of getting a virus or something else that could damage your computer if you make smart decisions about where you download your wii games from. I always make the suggestion that you stay far away from sites that are populated strictly with torrents. These types of files are often found to be nothing more than virus infected trash in more cases than not.

When you download wii games there are also some other things to keep in mind. One of them is when you choose to download your wii games from a site, you will often be required to at the very least fill out a registration form to gain access. This is because these sites are often like priviate forums in the sense that you are required to log into the site because the files are password protected.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you will need ample hard drive space. Wii game downloads by nature are large in size and will take up about the same amount of space as a movie download. This is why it is important that after you get the wii game downloaded and you burn it to a disk you should delete it to allow space for your next download.

Putting the games to a disk is something that is done just the same as burning a music CD which almost everybody knows how to do. If you choose not to play the games on your console you can still play them on your computer by simply opening the file.

Being able to download wii games is something that is becoming more popular by the minute and many people is jumping on the band wagon. For this reason, I would not be surprised in the coming months if some of these communities started limting their membership as to not draw too much attention to themselves.

Showing Skill With Xbox 360 Achievements

Many Video Game players are now the second generation, meaning the kids that started the gaming explosion, have now gone on to be parents themselves. They want more than the old formation of games they used.

Video games now touching more markets and larger age groups. These are those that want to have something to show for their gaming time .Microsoft has included this in its online service Xbox Live with a area called Xbox 360 Achievements.

Display how good the player really is

Xbox 360 Achievements has a variety of objectives in each game. For example, Halo 3 has a list of achievements that players can complete offline in single player mode. Completing each of the missions on different levels will finish an achievement level.

Also being the MVP or earning a high rank, such and Sgt. in a match, while online, will also complete rating. Each game has a set number of achievements that players can complete for. Players then receive points for each achievement that they complete.

The important part of the Xbox 360 Achievements is that others can see other players' scores live online. This lets game players to show high scores to anybody online, world wide via the internet. Many of the achievements are difficult or almost impossible to achieve.

These achievements can be shown as to how good a player really is. Achievements are a way of letting others see how good you really are, and, does not allow for cheating the system- its proof of results.

With millions of players using the Xbox Live service, Xbox 360 Achievements may have set a standard for others to follow. For example, Call of Duty 4 was released not only on the Xbox 360 but also on the PC. The Xbox 360 Achievements version is different from the PC version which has "ranks and challenges,"

The idea of online persistence and being able to show your achievements is carried over. As this future trend continues, more games will come with achievements for players to show the skill they have. An example would be Lord of the Rings Online where players complete "deeds" to improve their character's abilities.

Xbox 360 Achievements allows players to display in their accomplishments worldwide and creating a reason to carry on with the game as well as buy new versions as they became available.

Xbox 360 Repairs Involving A Towel Are Bogus! Discover The Cause & REAL Fix For Xbox 360 Red Lights

Xbox 360 repairs for freezing (i.e. red ring of death) Xbox 360s is not a joke. If you think you can just wrap your system in a towel, overheat your system, and your Xbox 360 will be fixed...think again.

Here is what is causing the red ring of death...and why towel Xbox 360 repairs only make it worse...

The whole problem with red ring of death Xbox 360s is heat. As the motherboard heats up (and it can reach temperatures of over 100*C) it vibrates. These vibrations cause a loosing of the soldering which holds the GPU (graphics processing unit). As the soldering comes loose, so to does the GPU. Once the GPU becomes loose enough the system freezes and you get the red ring of death.

As you can see the GPU comes loose as a result of heat. Adding more heat is only going to make the problem worse. Also if you read about Xbox 360 repairs that involve hair dryers or hitting your system, you should be able to tell now that these "Xbox 360 repairs" are just wrong.

You should know...

Microsoft is actually responsible for this problem, and they admitted it in an official announcement in July 2007. The problem is a design flaw. To make room for the DVD drive, they decided to shrink the LSI heat sink. The heat sink is the cooling unit however, and it doesn't keep the motherboard cool enough. Sadly, over 500,000 people need Xbox 360 repairs.

The new elite model is supposedly better designed, and the motherboard does not flex as much as the earlier models.

OK, I need an Xbox 360 repair, what do I do? Will the red ring of death just go away on it's own if I leave it?

Firstly, your system will not fix itself, and by that it means you can't just leave your system alone and hope the problem will go away. Once you get the red ring of death, you will need repair your system to make the problem go away.

Thankfully, Xbox 360 repairs are fast (less than an hour), permanent (you only need to do it once, if you do it right), and they aren't complicated. You do not need technical tools or experience for Xbox 360 repairs. There is a step by step video repair guide available at the end of this article that will take you through the whole repair process.

Xbox 360 repairs in a nut shell
Here is an overview of what you need to do to fix your system and stop those annoying red lights.

1. Take off the face plate and cover
2. Remove the motherboard and heat sink
3. Put a spacer (washer) between the heat sink and motherboard
4. Clean off the GPU
5. Put it back together

It isn't rocket science, and literally anyone can do this.
Putting it all together
Now you know Xbox 360 repairs are not complicated, and anyone from 10 to 80 could do this and if you would like, there is an Xbox 360 video repair guide available at the end of this article.

Xbox 360 red lights are extremely annoying, and the problem will not go away on its own. Crack pot fix methods that use towels, heat, or hitting your Xbox 360 will make the problem worse. Interestingly enough, 94% of red light error Xbox 360s don't need new parts---they just need a little tweak to get them up and running.

Don't be held prisoner

The last thing you should do is nothing. If you absolutely will not perform Xbox 360 repairs yourself, you can send it in to Microsoft. It will take 4-6 weeks and cost $140. Not the best option, but still better than doing nothing.

Playing your system knowing it could freeze any second is beyond frustrating. You can't play multiplayer games without that nagging fear of dropping. Plus you are in constant fear of losing progress.

Morrowind Game Of The Year

Morrowind is a fantasy adventure RPG offered on the XBox gaming system and PC. In the video games and gaming world, Morrowind is a best of all game. Hours and Days of replay value and excitement await you as you delve deeper into the land of Vardenfell, on the Island of Morrowind.

After loading screen and going through the cool intro, you choose a name and listen to Jiub, you begin on a ship and beginning tutorial is provided. From the dock, you choose to be one of the 10 races and continue with guards to the census office where you have many options for "class".

Morrowind's choice of "Class" is defined as your style of play such as combat specialist, magic specialist, or stealth specialist with sub classes, and melding of classes.

Knights aren't just pure combat specialists, they can enchant equipment and cast restoration spells.

By Stephanie Haile

A witch hunter does not need to be just a magic user they also can be adept fighters with ranged weapons or staves.

Spellswords are exceptional magic users and fair me lee fighters that can augment themselves to do Titan-like damage.

Nightblades are the ultimate in thieving. They use the illusion of invisibility, alteration of undetectability, and can be virtually untouchable.

A Battlemage is a Spellsword on steroids. Basically their magic is almost entirely damage oriented. The weapons the Battlemage uses, like the Ax, does uber damage.

Healers are just as the name implies. They heal others as well as themselves but also hold their own as excellent hand to hand combatants. Morrowind is a totally different game played as a healer and is very challenging. The utmost challenge if you don't glitch. Glitching basically nullifies all class restrictions.

Monks use no swords and wear very little, if any, armour. They rely on hand to hand combat with blunt weapons such as staves and hammers. Restorative spells augment their hand to hand combat. Monks are a fun challenge to be played as a beast race.

The agent is for lack of a better destination, a great spy. They were born with a silver tongue, sneaky individuals that use illusion spells to augment their charms. Are able to conquer beasts to assist their fighting. The agent needs not carry any weapons as he can manifest them out of thin air.

The other classes are very specialized with little room for customization. They are fun but more challenging. Here is a short list of the other classes: Acrobat, Archer, Assassin, Barbarian, Bard, Crusader, Mage, Pilgrim, Rogue, Scout, Sorcerer, Thief, and Warrior.

Creating a custom class is also an option and a great way to continue Morrowinds "play your own way" feel. Morrowinds replay value can't be beat by any game except other Elder Scrolls games. Morrowind was chosen as game of the year by Gamespy and Gamespot in 2002 and voted RPG of the year by XBox magazine. "Each event is preceded by a prophecy, but without the hero, there is no event." Grand Theft Auto (GTAIV) on PS3

Grand Theft Auto IV (GTAIV) on PS3 is a game with an amazing and nonlinear storyline, a game with a great protagonist who you can't help but like, and a game that boasts a large selection of online multiplayer features in addition to its lengthy story mode. Of course, it is not without some flaws, but GTAIV is undoubtedly the best Grand Theft Auto yet.

The Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3 story starts with Niko Bellic stepping off a boat in Liberty City, which is modeled after New York City. Right away, you get the sense that Rockstar North's latest GTA offering is something very special. Yes, this is another Grand Theft Auto game in which you'll probably spend most of your time stealing cars and gunning down cops and criminals, but it's so much more than that. You will find that Niko decides to help out Roman with his rundown cab stand and keep thugs off his back until he can figure out how to make money and connections in Liberty City. You also get to discover the real reasons that Niko left his homeland.

So begins Grand Theft Auto IV, the newest - and easily the best - entry in the wildly popular GTA series. The game manages to take the tried-and-true already successful game experience , which involves taking missions to earn cash and climb the corporate ladder of a criminal operation or sightseeing in Liberty City, and turns it into something that feels completely new and updated. Some even claim that it a gaming masterpiece that is a picture-perfect snapshot of the underworld of today's big cities

When the pedestrians, cars and buildings became repetitive in previous GTA releases it was always tempting to get bored, steal a cop car and end up in your own North Hollywood shootout. There are many more times as many distractions in GTA IV, including working cell phones, televisions that can flip channels and the Liberty City version of the Internet. This time, the mundane is as interesting as the some of the unsavory elements of the game.

But that's not to say it's empty of meaning. GTA IV is a crass cultural commentary that mocks the American media's obsession with sex and violence and money. This is the reason why so many people in the media and government are bothered by the Grand Theft Auto games. For example, the Chicago Transit Authority pulled 385 ads for the game from its subways, but the same organization has no problem letting violent films advertise in the same places.) If these people actually played GTA IV, maybe they would realize that not all videogames are for kids and ultimately get the joke - that the game also rejects the violence, sexism, and consumerism it appears to embrace. It is worth mentioning that Grand Theft Auto IV is definitely for a mature audience.

In case you haven't guessed already, Grand Theft Auto IV on PS3 is a game that you will have to play to appreciate it. The single-player game, which you can still play long after you complete the story, is the series' best by far, and the multiplayer features are good enough that you'll likely have no problem finding people to play with you for many months into the future. The minor flaws that you'll experience are no different than those in previous GTA games, and they're greatly outnumbered by the new features that will amaze you anytime just when you think you have already seen everything that the game has to offer.

You can avoid the long lines waiting to buy Grand Theft AutoIV (4) on PS3. Besides, it is sure to sell out at your local store. Why waste your time? Where to find the best deals on Grand Theft Auto?

Will Grand Theft Auto Four Live Up To Its Hype?

Has there ever been a more anticipated new game than Grand Theft Auto Four? As I write this on April 16, 2008. there are already people all over the world camping in tents outside gaming stores waiting for the May 1, 2008 launch.

"Sure," you say, "there are always a few nutjobs out there lining up for any new entertainment release." There is nothing new anymore about seeing people living in tents to be first in line to get a new product or see a new movie.

But the buzz around Grand Theft Auto Four has also reached Wall Street and analysts are predicting it will not only be the biggest launch in gaming history (anticipated to smash Halo 3's box office record of $300 million in its first week last year), but it is also expected to topple all records for the entire entertainment industry as well. Based on pre-orders, it is expected to break the $404 million raked in by Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

And that is not all when it comes to Wall Street's interest. Grand Theft Auto Four's creator, Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. has been the target of a $2 billion buyout offer by Electronic Arts Inc., which it recently rebuffed. Most financial analysts predict that a slightly higher offer is in the works, so only time will tell if such a merger will take place.

But all this financial talk begs the question of whether Grand Theft Auto Four will live up to its hype when gamers finally get their hands on it May 1. Based on early reviews, the game has a realism never before seen. The streets of Liberty City come alive with hustle and bustle, and it has a sense of place that reportedly puts one right into this gritty metropolis.

Add that to the fact that its streets will soon be filled with mayhem come May 1, and you have a reason for fans sleeping in pup tents around the world.
